What is the Red Shoe Society?

The Red Shoe Society (RSS) is a group of young professionals with a collective goal to help make a difference in the lives of families with sick children. As ambassadors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri, Red Shoe Society members work together to raise money, donate their time and raise awareness to benefit the House.

Red Shoes are not the only thing to make society members stand out. Red Shoe Society members are leaders. Being a society member means you are the type of person who wants to lend your talents to help others. Join the Red Shoe Society today and help keep families together when kids need it most. For more information contact the Red Shoe Society or Barb King, Director of Development & Communications.

Committees

While there will be plenty of events and volunteer opportunites throughout the year, we are also looking for volunteers to serve on our five committees.

Development- As the face of RSS to the business community the "Fundies" play the critical role of keeping RSS and the RMHC in the black throughout the year and are truly the backbone that keeps us up and running. Members interested in joining this committee can expect to meet once a month to develop and discuss new or upcoming fundraising programs and to volunteer time engaging with companies as a representative of RSS and the RMHC.

Service Committee - The Service Committee is truly the heart and soul of our organization driven by our most civically minded RSS Members. These "Movers" focus on the development of volunteer opportunities for our members both on site and out in the Columbia community.

Social Committee -The Social Committee, or "Socialites," is home to most of our party planners, amateur bartenders and local maven RSS Members. RSS Members with the desire to join this committee can expect to meet once a month to plan and develop new and engaging monthly events for RSS members and to volunteer time working with local companies and venues as a representative of RSS and the RMHC in order to craft some of the most exciting events Columbia has seen.

Marketing/PR - The Marketing/PR Committee or "Creatives" are the members with a flair for marketing. They help create positive awareness about the Red Shoe Society with press releases, social media, collateral material and constant networking. If you want to be in the mix of everything going on in the Red Shoe Society, this is the committee for you.

Membership Committee- The Membership Committee is the playground of our extraverts, sales men and women and hand shaking RSS Members. RSS Members who chose to join these "Shakers" can expect to meet once a month to plan and develop membership orientation events, public awareness drives and campaigns to ensure that RSS meets and surpasses its goals in the Community.
